Definition of Configuration
"Product configuration is concerned with the specification of manaufacturing of assembly plans for specific products. The planning includes specification of the actual constituents of a product which are to be included in a planned unit of production."

There are 4 kinds of process which are related to configurations. The below figure and list show and describe the configurations respectively.

- Modeling configuration:
design constituents of product to support the configuration of products could be assembled by the combination of predefied (also pre-validated) constituent.- Configure a product:
configure a products with options from the customer requirements.- Reconfiguration:
configures customers product after dilivery or configure a product with constituents produced independantly (eq. dilivered as Kit and assembled by dealer).- Configuration Maintenance:
